Any one who has visited the site a few times might have noticed the recent changes. The biggest change being the background colour. (apparently there evidence slightly less power consumed by computer monitors for pages that display a black background, me doing my ting bit for global warming). The other major change is to the home page. if you have looked at several times you might just of noticed the pictures on the front page change each time you visit. try looking at the home page and refresh the page in the browser, you will see a different collection of pictures each time. currently i have 18 small pictures on file, that will increase, but it chooses 12 of those at random to display. This update version of the website is written (badly most likely) in php, which allows for it being a little more active than the standard web language of html.
The changes to come include many more pictures than before. This means remembering to take the digital camera with me when we fit something. Problem is not everything we make we fit, but where possible i have been cheeky and asked the customer, when they have fitted it, would they send me a few pictures for the website. In addition to more pictures i am also trying to put larger versions of the pictures on a seperate web page. Truth is on the main pages for gates, railings balconies you try to cram in as much on a page as you can, meaning the pictures tend to be small. Trouble is you can always see the smaller details of the iron work in the pictures. so i decided it might be a good idea to create seperate pages that allow you to see much larger picture.
Trouble with changing things its always a lot slower process than you thought. Being time is limited to evenings and weekend, in between doing quotes and drawings. Often means i dont always have time to fully change things as i want to, meaning i end up with links to web pages which arent there yet.
Home page - To my knowledge works fine
Gates page - works fine but links to side gates estate gates currently not there (results in a broken link
Balconies page - works fine has some new photos, short on descriptive text
Garden planters page - Ok just short of photos (must remember to take digital camera more often)
Links page- works but looks a mess, missing a good few links to other sites
Contact page - works fine including use of google map (not sure i like the look of the page)
About us page- some details added
other pages just missing, but hopefully not for long
