Wrought iron Gates come in various forms, singles and doubles being the major differences. Singles are usually used as side entrance, entry gates or front gates for narrow gaps. Double gates often form driveway gates or are used in place of single gates where the gap is to wide to be practical for a metal single gate.
A decorative wrought iron single gate, made from hand forged scrolls. The design was based on a pair of double gates, already in place, but adapted to suit a single gate to give the impression that both sets were made at the same time, even though the double gates (not pictured) were made several years prior. It uses tradition type hinges, one floor mounted and the other wall mounted, much of the design is based on victorian era gates.
Large pair of double decorative wrought iron estate gates or grand entrance gate made several years ago, with metal side entry gate. All made from solid steel bars. These were designed with gate automation in mind. The double centre bar increases the strength needed for the electric openers. When having a set of metal driveway gates or estate gates made the possibility of future automation should be considered in the design. A badly designed pair of steel gates may not take the stress of gate automation.
Metal gates can provide excellent security. Daft as it seems an iron or steel side entrance gate may be a better deterrent against intruders than a solid wooden gate. The reason being that you can see through it thus not giving any potential intruder cover, normally associated with solid wooden gates. Meaning any one up to no good can be seen by passers by. We can also fit locks to gates giving extra security. All wrought iron gates are made to order, bespoke. We would be happy to discuss your individual requirements. email us your requirements to discuss wrought gates prices and designs. Be it a hand forged wrought iron gate or just a simple and solid wrought iron gate. |
